After a very hectic 3 months of promotion and prep for the album release, we finally had the Launch event (which was a stonking success!!) and now have a couple of days off. A day of travelling up to Ripponden in Yorkshire then we spent a wonderful few hours up on the moors.
The weather is amazing! Blazing sun and blue skies during the day (and wind on the moors, obviously) then clear and frosty nights. We’re camping by a beautiful river in a valley so the sun takes a while to reach us to melt the frost in the morning. But we’re snug and cosy in Michelle the little caravan, with a blanket over our heads to stop our noses freezing!
We walked part of the Pennine Way yesterday (just 4.5 miles but it was undulating!!), mostly in blessed silence with the distant sounds of geese on the reservoirs and skylarks up above and the occasional startled bumble bee. Lots of rivulets run down the hills towards the reservoirs, some small waterfalls which will be impressive waterfalls in the rains, some boggy areas, but all sparkling and clean.
As we walked we came up with the idea for our next song which will be about the Jay’s Nest.
